Destination Hawaii Wedding – Whitney and Derek Copenhaver – Tropical Gardens Getaway

What better location than HAWAII. Whitney has always dreamed of having her wedding on the Garden Island of Hawaii, also known as Kauai. It is given that name for the 70% of the island that is reserved for rainforest and waterfalls. It is worth every penny to have your wedding on an island like this. When Whitney first asked me to help plan her wedding in Hawaii, I almost cried of happiness. I knew she had always dreamed of it but it was FINALLY here! After 5 years of dating, Derek popped the question at Whitney’s family vacation that was in Hawaii that year. Perfect location, family present, beautiful ring, stunning view, photographer, he checked all the boxes! Great Job DEREK!
Whitney chose the National Tropical Botanical Gardens – McBryde Garden – Big Valley for her wedding venue. The staff there was extremely helpful and very accommodating. This made the destination planning much easier for me. I was able to meet with vendors at later hours due to the time change but each one of them was willing to put in the extra work.

Derek is a wedding photographer and videographer so I knew he would choose one of the best photographers and videographers in the United States to capture their perfect wedding day. Jordan Voth Photography & Kriha Films! We had a great group of vendors for this wedding and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

You will see a beautifully designed garden wedding surrounded by beautiful tropical trees and flowers. You will see place cards with Hawaiian love sayings, tropical floral arrangements, string lights and so much more. Every detail was crafted to tell Whitney and Derek’s love story and surround them with love and appreciation for the start of this exciting chapter. From getting ready with the family, the first look with the Father of the Bride, last dance with just the two of them to the day after photo session, it was truly MAGICAL!
